Slimchance Tha Rapper Debut Album

While anticipating the release of his new album, up and coming rap artist Slimchacne Tha Rapper took a moment to set down and answer a few questions for us. Slimchance has released four albums year to date, but with the anticipated release of this album there seems to be a deeper connection, which also features a book about his struggles through life.
They are both set to be released at Midnight June 25, 2010 and will be available for download, link will be provide at the end for both downloads. So on with the interview....
Whiteline: How did you start out to be a freestyle/rap artist?
Slimchance: Well I always had a love for music, I remember playing with monopoly money and putting on foil teeth thinking I was a rap star, so i've always fit the look... Lol, but I have a great way with words so i've always been good at expressing myself, so it came easy. But when I was told I can't do it, I wouldn't do it, or I had a slim chance... then it started from there.
Whiteline: What are some of the music that inspired you?
Slimchance: Well I have a old soul, so as a kid I was always in love with beats, Ottis Redding, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, those guys were crazy with it. But I also favor Fabolous, Jadakiss and T.I.
Whiteline: What were some of the things that motivated you in your song writing?
Slimchance: Life; I grew up in a bad place, around death, drugs, filth and more. So I used my past to help me build my future, my race to success is non-stoppable because i wanna be as far away as i can from what I grew up around.
Whiteline: Do you feel that your music is influential?
Slimchance: Hell yeah!! Listen to the music, I speak real shit, shit i've been through and seen so it's really related to by thousands. Because its everyday real life shit...
Whiteline: Do you consider yourself a role model for others?(ex: Kids, family members or other artist)
Slimchance: I'm a humble artist, who worked his way up from a 20 recorder and a Radio Shack mic, to his own personal recording studio, growing up in reject shoes to foreign cars. Using his musical talents to help others, giving thousands to feed children in need, making national newspapers and magazines as well as releasing a Haiti relief song to aid people in Haiti who were in need... I AM A ROLE MODEL!!! I do more as an unsigned artist that most that are signed with big bank accounts do!!!
Whiteline: Who are some of your influences in the music industry or upcoming artist(s)?
Slimchance: ME!!! My artist Imarock "is the next R&B prince", Drake "is killing it now just being simple", The Game had a opening and he took it. But there are a few cats that are coming up..., but my sound and originality is different. I will always be a Tu-Pac feigned that guy is/was amazing. Anyone basically who just took nothing and kept going and built success... that's what I am going to do.
Whiteline: Where do you see yourself in the next five years as it pertain to your career path?
Slimchance: In the Millions..., Lol. Nah I see myself in a better place. My plans are to use this musical talent to open other doors and branch out; rather than just staying focused on the music, "I am multi-talented".
Whiteline: Out of all your freestyles/albums which ones are your favorites?
Slimchance: All my albums are my favorites because each one had a meaning behind it and it showed a remarkable growth from each one. I have a lot of hot songs but "Letter to my Son" featuring my two year-old son and that was a heart-felt crazy track, there's "My Money Got Bigger" which was a real first song on that Prince Of the City #1 Album, but this new album Faith Of a Hustler "is bananas!" I can't even tell u bro... you gotta just listen to it, there is nothing like it out.
Whiteline: If there is one thing you could change that's happening in the music industry, what would it be?
Slimchance: The availability to being heard, there are so many talented people out there and it's sad they will never get a shot to be great, because the game is so shifty. You need to have your man working at the label or a side hook-up... "shit is crazy". My first record was played in L.A. and I am from N.Y. something is just wrong with that!!!
Whiteline: Who would you consider to be a good up and coming artist that is not well known as yet?
Slimchance: R&B artist Imarock, Tkor, Sasia Sings (All Reelyfe Ent. artists) and Will Sullivin (Catacomb).
Whiteline: What would you say to someone that decides they want to be a freestylist/rap artist?
Slimchance: If it's in your heart and you're dedicated then don't let anyone or anything stand in your way, "People tend to hate greatness".
Whiteline: On your new album that is debuting on June 25,2010, which track(s) is your favorite(s)?
Slimchance: Wow!! That's a hard one. The "Intro" is crazy!!! then me and Imarock got a joint called "My Girl", "Tell Me" featuring Sasia Sings and the "Outro" which is meaningful because the fans called in an left messages that we placed on the track... "It's Hot".
Whiteline: Are there any songs on the album that was a personal experience for you?
Slimchance: #9 "Faith Of a Hustler" is basically a lot about my life, #6 "Drunken Thoughts" is my personal outlook on life, music and many more and #13 "Only You" feat. Drake a dedication to my lady. It is a hard CD!!, you better download it right after this interview... Lol.
Whiteline: Will there be another album after this one or a couple of singles?
Slimchance: My album dropped yesterday at midnight!!, I am already working on the "Best Of Both Hoods" a album me and R&B artist Imarock is putting together.
Whiteline: Final Quesiton, What made you want to write a book?
Slimchance: I've been thru so much and managed to make it so far out an so many didn't and so many still going thru it. I felt that people use me as a way to see that as long as you keep God first, stay focused and keep your dreams in mind... "You can do anything you want!!". Anything..., I am a living example of that and by the way the book is called "Diary Of an Unknown Hustler" and it's available as a download or paperback from my Facebook fan page.
